A Sitatunga in an Abercorn Bar
The book made a great impression on me - in particular, the author's description of a visit to a bar in Abercorn on the wall of which was a sitatunga bull antelope; and of the author's journey to the edge of the Bangweulu swamps. In my last year of school in Johannesburg in '62, I then hitched up to Abercorn with a friend and visited the bar, and then got a lift to Livingstone's memorial on the edge of the floodplains of Bangweulu. Eleven years later I was in charge of the Bangweulu wildlife and carried out research on sitatunga. What a book!
